There is a set of reserved
.us domain names, for which any registration request will be rejected.
A list of such names is
available on the website of the Authority, in the 'Reserved Names' section.
Besides the specific names
included in the list, even the following name categories are reserved:
A. All numbers
with 5 digits or more
B. All numbers with
5 digits - 4 digits (post codes e.g. 12345-1234)
C. All phone numbers including toll-free
numbers
D. All tag or label names with a hyphen in the third (e.g. "ab-cd2e4f4g") or fourth
(e.g. "abc-d2e4f4g") position.
